Seedy Sunday Brighton and Hove is the UK’s oldest and largest Community Seed Swap and is on February 5th at Brighton Girls GDST.

For our 21st anniversary we’re back with a full event as well as our giant seed swap. The whole family is welcome to come and learn about gardening organically. Tickets are £4 and under 18s get in free. Our local experts can help you to learn more about organic growing methods in your garden, community garden or window box.

If you're new to growing and don't have any seeds to swap yet, don't worry! We'll have loads of open-pollinated vegetable, herb, flower, and wildflower seeds, many saved by local gardeners, and many bought in bulk from reputable suppliers - yours for a donation of 50p a packet.

We have an exciting programme of guest speakers with No Dig gardener Charles Dowding headlining. Jools Lawton of Fork & Dig It and seed researcher and writer Helene Schulze will talk about gardening for biodiversity and why and how to save seeds. We’ll have our old favourite back, our own local gardeners’ question time. Watch our website and social media for programme timings.

Huge thanks to our sponsor Infinity Foods Cooperative who will also be selling their organic seed potatoes. Our horticultural marketplace returns with rare and heritage plants, unusual edible plants, organic seeds and locally made vegetarian and vegan products. Real Junk Food Project and Sussex Surplus will be offering affordable meals on the day. There will be free hands-on children's activities, making it a good value family day out.

Our new venue for 2023: Brighton Girls GDST, Montpelier Road, Brighton BN1 3AT. Entrance is £4, under 18s free. Hope to see you there!

Would you like to help us on the day? Every year at Seedy Sunday around 40 people volunteer to make sure the event runs smoothly. We ask our volunteers to give for a minimum of two hours/ max four hours of their time. Jobs include working on the entrance desk, helping on the seed table, helping with the speaker programme and lots more. As a thank you for your help, we offer free entry to the event, a hot drink, and a goody bag of snacks from Infinity Foods. It is really good fun and many of our volunteers return year after year.
